Internship Responsibilities

The Policy Intern will support the Policy and Board Engagement (PBE) Team by:

  • Conducting desk reviews and benchmarking analyses of evaluation policies from international organizations.
  • Supporting the review of the GCF Evaluation Policy.
  • Assisting with policy analysis for independent evaluations.
  • Supporting preparations before, during, and after GCF Board meetings.
  • Maintaining knowledge management systems tracking Board decisions and evaluation recommendations.
  • Drafting policy briefs, analytical reports, and institutional documents.
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and visual communication materials.
  • Providing administrative and coordination support.
  • Assisting with additional analytical and operational tasks assigned by the IEU team.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

  • Hold or be completing a Master’s or PhD in:
    • Law
    • Public Policy
    • Political Science
    • International Development
    • Environmental Studies
    • Or another closely related discipline.
  • Have strong qualitative research skills, including:
    • Literature reviews
    • Policy analysis
    • Document analysis
    • Thematic synthesis.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical abilities.
  • Possess strong written and spoken English skills.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work independently and in multicultural environments.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, intellectual curiosity, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Knowledge of independent evaluation functions in international organizations.
  • Familiarity with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).
  • Understanding of UNFCCC processes.
